How can I upload pics from my new camera onto my computer?

I have a samsung camera p1200
it comes with a lead which goes into the camera, then splits to a yellow and a white end which are not usb shaped!
whenever i slot the camera card into the slot in my computer windows crashes.
I don’t think it’s a problem with the computer, as the computer worked fine uploading pictures from the old camera.
the camera itself has also been working perfectly.
