When will I find out if I am a National Merit Finalist?

I took the PSAT in the fall of 2007. I received a letter from New York University that read “Congratulations for your performance on the PSAT. We would like to extend and invitation for you to attend our National Merit Finalist Program.” I was a little confused, because I was told that semi-finalists will be officially notified in the fall of 2008, and the finalists will be notified during the month of February in 2009.

So does this letter mean that I am a finalist, and the official letter will come after some time?

Is the NYU National Merit Finalist Program directly affiliated with the National Merit Scholarship program (are all people invited to be in the NYU program official National Merit Scholars?)

Is there a website that lists all of this year’s National Merit Finalists?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is a 229 on the PSAT good enough?

we just got our scores back, and i got:

critical reading - 74
math - 80
writing - 75

is this good enough to be a national merit finalist or scholar? how good/bad is this in comparison to you or any of your friends?

if any of you have been through the whole national merit thing - what are my chances of making it all the way through?

any input is greatly appreciated these are not the percentiles - these are the actual scores.

How come Detroit wasn’t even a finalist to become Hockeytown?

The finalists were Buffalo, Philly and Minnesota. Why did Detroit not get included to try to become Hockeytown? Why did Buffalo not win? I mean look at how fast the Winter Outdoor Classic sold out.
I don’t know, not having Detroit as a finalist is a snub, but really, who could you take off the list. St.Paul, Philly and Buffalo are all great hockeytowns so I guess SI must be right.

I think that the Buffalo newspapers take on the issue is dead on.

American Idol Fans who has the most talent Constantine, Sanjaya, Chicken Little or William Hung?

I know its a close call but if you base it on pure singing skills it has to be William Hung. Based on talent and skill again its Williams Hung. Finally if based on cuteness, it goes to Chicken Little. His skin is smooth like a baby’s bottom.

Thats my vote. Throw in any other names you would like to from all American Idol Finalists.
I like how all the girls are picking Constantine. His smooching of the camera has left you a bit delusioned.
Hey BC dude chill out. I guess your like your women all drugged up. Oops… I mean slap happy from fairy dust. Watch something else.

Based on your PERSONAL MUSICAL PREFERENCE & not the actual person, who would you purchase an album from?

For me, David Cook & Jason Castro, HANDS DOWN. I’d purchase both their records in a heartbeat, I love both of their voices & styles. I’d also consider Michael Johns & Carly Smithson.
